NSW Liberal Leader Peter Debnam said today the first anniversary of the opening of the Cross City Tunnel highlighted the Labor Government's 12 years of incompetence.

"The Cross City Tunnel has become a lasting symbol of the Iemma Labor Government's incompetence," Mr Debnam said.

"It's involved all the major players in the Labor Government – Morris Iemma, Carl Scully, Michael Costa, Joe Tripodi, Frank Sartor and Eric Roozendaal," he said.

"The problem with the Cross City Tunnel is it doesn't work for the community.

"It was a bad design, a bad deal, and a bad contract.

"It's what you get when big business and big government do a cosy deal behind closed doors never suspecting the contract would become fully public.

"That's why I have made clear a NSW Liberal/Nationals Government will make all contracts public as soon as they are signed.

"The Cross City Tunnel debacle has always been an issue of the theft of the public roads. The Labor Party arrogantly stole freedom of movement around 70 roads from the NSW public and they want all of them back.

"If Morris Iemma doesn't reclaim all the road changes then I will straight after the election.

"Morris Iemma, Carl Scully, Frank Sartor, Michael Costa, Joe Tripodi and Eric Roozendaal have all failed the community.

"NSW deserves higher standards, better services and balanced budgets," Mr Debnam said.
