The 2007 NSW State Election was the first time in 19 years and 5 elections that the Liberal / National Coalition increased their two party-preferred (2PP) vote against the Labor Party.

In March 2007, the Liberal / National Coalition two party-preferred vote rose to 47.7%, with a state-wide swing of 3.9% (after having dropped 3.3% in the 1991 election, 1.5% in 1995, 7.2% in 1999, and a further drop of 0.2% in 2003).
