Don't Reward LaborPeter Debnam's Blog - Tuesday, 27th February 2007In the age of internet polls and reality TV, we get to vote on almost anything. Its quick and simple, just click and send and its all over. But the State election on March 24 is very different its a serious business with very serious consequences for people and families across NSW. How we vote on March 24 will have a major impact on what happens in NSW for the next four years. The election on March 24 is not about personalities or popularity. Its about the serious business of restoring our economy, tackling our water crisis, making our communities safe and ensuring we can have faith in important public services such as our hospitals, schools and public transport. Any objective assessment of the record of the Labor Government over the past 12 years shows that they have failed to deliver on these important issues. Hospitals in crisis, bungled infrastructure projects such as the Cross City Tunnel, public transport chaos, an economy on the brink of recession, the highest taxes per person of any state, councils and communities being ridden over by an arrogant Planning Minster and an expensive and environmentally damaging desalination plant being forced on the people of NSW. Labor are not listening to the people of NSW. So on March 24, the people of NSW have a serious decision to make. Do you want to reward Labor for the job they have done in running this state for the past 12 years or do you want to hold Labor accountable. Its that simple. Labor says that NSW is heading in the right direction. But we all know that we need to fix NSW. The worst thing that can happen for NSW on March 24 is that nothing changes. A vote for Labor means that nothing changes. Labor will do anything to take the focus away from their twelve years in Government at this election. But it is Labor and what they have done to this state and what theyll do to this state that is the issue as we approach the election. Make no mistake, a vote for Labor will only let Labor off the hook again. So on March 24 lets not reward Labor, lets vote to fix NSW. Regards,
