After 12 Years Of Labor's Excuses, Morris Iemma Comes Up With Yet Another Plan

NSW Liberal Leader Peter Debnam said today Morris Iemma's launch of yet another plan was a list of re-announcements and a statement of the obvious.

"This is yet another plan that will not be delivered," Mr Debnam said.

"After 12 years of Labor's excuses, the people of NSW know this is likely to become yet another document full of broken promises," he said.

"This is Labor's glossy election plan, not an action plan for NSW.

"The Labor Party is very good a putting together these glossy brochures in the style of selling real estate on the Gold Coast, but they're not good at delivering world-class services and infrastructure.

"The Iemma-Costa Labor Government must also release all the taxpayer-funded research associated with the plan for full and open scrutiny of the people of NSW, including the feedback on the performance of the 12-year-old Labor Government.

"Look at Morris Iemma's track record as Premier and Health Minister to see whether this plan will ever eventuate:

  • Ignored health warnings about the deadly toxins in the M5 East tunnel;
  • Blow out in hospital waiting lists to record highs;
  • Increased or introduced 86 taxes since becoming Premier;
  • Driven NSW economy to the brink of recession;
  • Axed 1,400 weekly bus services;
  • Cut 416 daily train services forcing commuters onto slower, overcrowded trains;
  • Failed to take action to address the NSW water crisis;
  • Slashed 650 police officers; and,
  • Failed to hold his Minister's accountable by refusing to sack Kerry Hickey, John Della Bosca, Joe Tripodi, Frank Sartor and Michael Costa.

"After 12 years of Labor's excuses, this Government is rotten and it's time for a change," Mr Debnam said.
