Vote to fix NSW

Peter Debnam's Blog - Friday, 23rd March 2007

The first thing that needs to be done to fix NSW, is to vote to fix NSW, it’s your decision.

If you truly believe that in two years time NSW will be a better place under Joe Tripodi, Frank Sartor and Michael Costa, then go for it, Vote Labor.

But if not, then please vote for your local Liberal or Nationals candidate to give our team the chance to fix NSW, because you know that Labor will not do it.

We have said all along that the biggest risk at this election is that nothing changes. A vote for Labor tomorrow, means that nothing will change.

If Labor is re-elected tomorrow , then you can expect more chaos on public transport, more infrastructure bungles like the Cross City Tunnel, more delays in our Hospitals and Emergency departments, longer waits for air conditioning in schools, police without the resources and powers to do the job and four more years of higher taxes and the list goes on.

And you will also get a $1.9 billion desalination plant at Kurnell, the next in a long line of infrastructure failures of the Carr-Iemma Labor Government.

By contrast we have set out our straight forward plan to fix NSW. We have identified $8.9 billion of savings to fund an $8.8 billion plan to fix NSW, including

- more than $1.3 billion in land tax and payroll cuts,
- 500 more nurses, 200 more teachers and 1,720 more police,
- a comprehensive plan to use recycled water to boost our drinking water supplies that will deliver almost twice the water at half the cost of Labor’s desalination plant,
- more than $2.1 billion to fix our roads, schools, hospitals and public transport infrastructure.

For twelve years Morris Iemma has been there as part of this Labor government, every Sorry day. And during this time, NSW has gone from one crisis to another.

And what’s Labor’s response? SORRY, just SORRY, then SORRY again.

Well, I have never known a SORRIER Government, than Labor in NSW.

Hollow apologies and more of the same, that‘s what you’ll get with four more years of Labor.

And you’ll get Michael Costa, Frank Sartor and Joe Tripodi, because these are the Labor Ministers Morris Iemma will re-appoint next week to run NSW if Labor is re-elected tomorrow.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Tomorrow, you can change all this.

Tomorrow you can vote Liberal or Nationals and say ‘Sorry Morris’, but after twelve years, Labor’s had long enough. It’s time to fix NSW.

For twelve years, Labor has failed the people and families of NSW.

On Saturday, I’m asking you to give our team the chance to fix NSW, because Morris Iemma and Labor won’t do it

So tomorrow, please vote to start fixing NSW.

Thank you.

Regards,

Peter Debnam

A chance to fix NSW
Peter Debnam's Blog - Thursday, 22nd March 2007

On Saturday, I’m asking the people of NSW for the chance to fix NSW.

Because after twelve years of Labor, NSW needs fixing.

For twelve years, Labor has shown they can’t fix NSW.

Labor has said at this election there is more to be done. But, as their record shows they never do it. And they never will.

We need to fix NSW NOW!

Fighting to win, to fix NSW
Peter Debnam's Blog - Monday, 19th March 2007

I’m fighting this election to win. There is not one defeatist bone in my body, and never has been. I am a straight shooter. I tell it like it is, and that’s what I did, when I made the obvious point that if people vote Labor next Saturday, then Labor will be re-elected.

I’m fighting to stop Labor at this election, who have trashed this state for 12 years, and will do so again if they are re-elected next Saturday.

DON'T VOTE LABOR!
Peter Debnam's Blog - Friday, 16th March 2007

The last few days in NSW have been a repeat of the last twelve years.

Public transport in chaos, cover ups on toxic waste, housing for cash scandals and cynical political deals with the Green that put Labor’s political interests above those of families on drugs, are all just too common in NSW.
Yet if the polls are right, the Labor Government will be easily re-elected on March 24. This will be a very bad outcome for NSW. You know this is true. And you can stop it.

Say no to drugs, Morris
Peter Debnam's Blog - Thursday, 15th March 2007

At 5.00pm tomorrow afternoon Morris Iemma must advise the Electoral authorities whether he will preference the Greens at this election, despite the Greens call to decriminalize ICE and all other drugs in NSW.

Yesterday Morris Iemma said ‘nobody should have anything to do with’ the Green’s policy to decriminalise drug use, include ICE, heroin and ecstasy. Yet, Morris Iemma has the hypocrisy to give the Greens his direct endorsement at the election on March 24, by giving them his preferences, that could see more Green MPs elected to Parliament, and even control the balance of power in NSW.
